Regensburg's Bishop Implores Virgin Mary on Behalf of Troops Fighting Bolshevism

Bishop Michael Buchberger of Regensburg

Bishop Michael Buchberger of Regensburg writes a letter in which he implores the Virgin Mary to intervene for peace: "On our Church today, on our beloved fatherland, and especially on our warriors engaged in heavy fighting against godless and inhuman Bolshevism."

Bishop Buchberger may desire peace, but he doesn't seem to believe that war against "godless and inhuman Bolshevism" is necessarily a bad thing, even if it's an unprovoked war of aggression by a fascist government that's murdering millions.
