Pope Pius XII Sympathetic to Poles & Polish Cardinal Hlond for Loss of Country

Speaking before a group of Poles in Rome, including Polish Primate Cardinal August Hlond, Pope Pius XII expresses his sympathy to the Polish people for the loss of their country and states that he foresees a day when Poland would be resurrected as a nation.

The pope makes no reference whatsoever to German aggression, much less does he say anything remotely critical of Germany for its unprovoked invasion of Poland or the ongoing atrocities against both Jews and Catholics throughout Poland.
