Jews are suddenly and unexpectedly expelled from France by order of King Charles VI. In his decree Charles VI says that he has long been getting complaints about the "excesses" which Jews are committing against Christians.

His investigators have reportedly found many violations of the laws and therefore Jews must be forbidden from living in any French territory.

This expulsion order is not enforced immediately and Jews are given a change to sell off their property before leaving. Of course, the prices they get will not be nearly what the property is worth, but everyone knows that they Jews don't have any choice in the matter.
