Valencia, having been under Muslim control for more than a century, surrenders to King James I of Aragon. The surrounding region will be purged of Muslims in the coming months as well.

A Christian Crusader army of soldiers from Aragon, Catalan, and Navarre, as well as soldiers from the Order of Calatrava, has been besieging Valencia for several weeks; with the surrender, they will force around 50,000 Muslims to leave.

King James I will create a Kingdom of Valencia with the newly conquered city of Valencia as its capital.
