Reichbishop Ludwig Müller sends telegrams to Commissar Hans Sommerer, who is supposed to become Bishop of Franconia, and Commissar Hans Gollwitzer, who is supposed to become Bishop of Old Bavaria, telling them that they have leave because he is reappointing Bishop Theophil Wurm to Württemberg and Bishop Hans Meiser to Bavaria.

Commissar Hans Gollwitzer has already announced his intention of leaving, so Reichbishop Müller's telegram is more an acknowledgement of the new status quo rather than a proactive change.

Reichbishop Müller also meets with Adolf Hitler when he officiates at a baptism in the Berlin home of SA-Gruppenführer Dietrich von Jagow. This is not an official meeting, though, and Hitler refuses to have an official audience with Müller until the problems in the Evangelical-Lutheran Church settle down.

Bishop Hans Meiser of Bavaria says in an official announcement:

"In view of the illegality of the decrees issued by Dr. Jäger, particularly the decree appointing commissioners for the control of the Bavarian State church, the Church Council of Bavaria, unless it neglects its duty, can no longer refrain from exercising its functions."
