Church Council Establishes the Inquisition in Toulouse to Eliminate Last of Cathars

The Inquisition is established in Toulouse by a Church Council for the purpose of eliminating the last of the Cathars hiding in the Languedoc region. Pope Gregory IX gives the Dominican order the authority to run the Inquisition, and they use it to ruthlessly suppress any sort of heresy and enforce orthodoxy.
