In Karachi, Pakistan, a suicide bomber blows himself up at the Shi'a Ali Raza mosque during evening prayers. Sixteen are killed and 35 are injured.

This, plus the previous day's assassination of Mufti Nizamuddin Shamzai, a senior Deobandi religious scholar and head of Islamic religious school Jamia Binoria, causes Shi'ites to riot across Pakistan.
