William Masters and Virginia Johnson, researchers who do important work on human sex behavior, appear on the cover of Time magazine. Between 1957 and 1965, the team of Masters and Johnson produced some of the first laboratory data on the anatomy and physiology of human sexual responses.

Using hard science, they have dispelled many myths about human sexuality and sexual responses, especially with regards to women. Their books, Human Sexual Response (1966) and Human Sexual Inadequacy (1970), are bestsellers and become classics in the field of human sexuality.
