Hussein bin Talal is crowned of King Hussein of Jordan. Hussein had actually succeed his father on August 11, 1952, but because he was underage at the time the coronation and enthronement has had to wait until today.

Hussein and his family are descended from Muhammad and his Hashemite clan. In 1994 Hussein became the second Arab head of state to recognize the state of Israel.
