British troops invade Iraq to install a pro-British government.

Iraqi leader Rashid 'Ali had requested German support for his government, but German support is too little and it comes too late, so 'Ali will be forced to flee to Iran and then later Germany.

The pro-British regent of Iraq who Rashid 'Ali had ousted, Prince 'Abd al-Ilah, will be restored to power.
