Reich Minister of Justice Franz Gürtner begins the movement towards banning mixed marriages between Jews and Christians.

Speaking to colleagues in the Reich Ministry of Justice, Gürtner says:

"I should like to ask you all to consider whether you can envisage any legislative procedure whereby we can prevent marriages of mixed race."
