Catholic bishops in Bavaria issue a statement calling on all Catholics to support the Nazi government's agenda of "spiritual, moral, and economic renewal."

All of these terms are aimed at the idea that there has been too much Jewish and liberal influence on German society. It is hoped by many Germans, not just Catholics, that Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party will renew Germany by making it more "German" again and less Jewish.
