Kurt Eisner is born in Berlin. A socialist and journalist, Kurt Eisner will lead the socialist revolution that overthrows the Wittelsbach monarchy in Bavaria in November 1918.

He will be assassinated by German nationalist Anton Graf von Arco auf Valley, who shoots Eisner in the back in Munich. Rather than a restoration of the monarchy, this killing actually leads to the brief existence of the Bavarian Soviet Republic.
