The Peace of Münster between the Dutch Republic and the Kingdom of Spain is officially ratified in Münster in the signing of the Treaty of Westphalia.

The Peace of Münster ends the Eighty Years' War between Catholic Spain and Dutch Protestants. It also ends the Thirty Years' War between Catholics and Protestants in Germany. This is the first step in the establishment of the Peace of Westphalia.
