Ignatius Loyola is seriously wounded by a cannon ball. He will have to undergo several operations to save his legs, and while recuperating, he reads a commentary on the life of Jesus Christ which completely transforms his life.

Ignatius Loyola will leave behind the life of a soldier and become a zealous and passionate defender of Church doctrine. Part of his new life will include founding the Jesuit Order which will be an important part of the Counter-Reformation of the Roman Catholic Church.
