Adrian III is elected pope.

Also known as Pope Hadrian III, not very much is known about him — either his earlier life or his papacy. It appears that Pope Adrian III may have been murdered and that his papacy generally was characterized by violence.

Ironically, he seem to have been a strong supporter of Pope John VIII, one of the few other popes to have been assassinated as well.
