Erich Neumann dies in Germany. A civil servant and politician, Neumann joined the Nazi Party in 1933 and the SS in 1934.

While serving the Nazi government, Erich Neumann first helped execute the mass Aryanization of Jewish businesses then represented the Ministries of Economy, Labour, Finances, Food, Transportation, and Armaments and Ammunition at the 1942 Wannsee Conference.

Neumann's contribution to the plan to exterminate Europe's Jews was to ask that all Jews necessary for Germany's war effort not be deported too quickly.
