President Gamal Abdel Nasser of the newly created United Arab Republic and Yemeni Crown Prince Seif ul-Islam Mohammed el-Badr announce that Yemen will join the U.A.R.

Unlike the original agreement between Egypt and Syria, this one will leave Yemen with its own independent government and international identity. Imam Ahmed will remain king of Yemen and Yemen will retain its own ambassadors around the world.
