Romania passes a law permitting the confiscation of Jewish houses and property. At least 41,000 buildings are taken.

Traditional Catholic anti-Semitism has always accused the Jews of acquiring wealth by stealing from and defrauding Christians. Self-defense against the Jewish threat to Christianity has thus always included the idea that stealing back from thieves like these is morally acceptable.
