Pope Pius XI issues his encyclical Firmissimam Constantiam on the revolution in Mexico.

He states that it is possible to launch a just insurrection against your own government and use violence against state powers that

"arise against justice and truth even to destroying the very foundations of authority...and make use of public power to bring it to ruin."
