In Berlin Joseph Goebbels announces that Germany would use "sharp counteractive measures" against anyone responsible for spreading "false" stories about atrocities being committed against Jews in Nazi Germany.

Goebbels explains:

"Drastic legal proceedings will be taken against the campaign which has been unloosed in America and England by interested Jewish circles against the new German regime.

A blow shall be struck at the intellectual mover and beneficiaries of these treasonable machinations, most of whom are Jews of German origin."
