Yitzhak Rabin is born in Jerusalem while it was still under the British Mandate. Yitzhak Rabin will serve as Prime Minster of Israel twice - once after Golda Meir 1974-1977 and then again from 1992-1995.

He will receive the Nobel Peace Prize with Yasser Arafat and Shimon Peres for their peace efforts, but at the same time Yitzhak Rabin will support the expansion of Jewish settlements which the Palestinians vigorously oppose.
