Theodor Fritsch and other German occultists found "The Grand Lodge," soon renamed the Germanenorden (German Order or Teutonic Order).
The Germanenorden is a secret society dedicated to German nationalism, Nordic racial superiority, antisemitism, and reviving ancient Nordic pagan beliefs. Membership is primarily the upper echelons of German society. Their symbol is a Swastika.
During World War I the Germanenorden splits and one, the Germanenorden Walvater of the Holy Grail, is headquartered in Bavaria. In 1918 the Munich Lodge of this group is given the name Thule Society.
In 1919 they sponsor a political party which many of them have joined and in which they have leadership positions: The German Workers' Party (Deutsche Arbeiterpartei, DAP).
