William Dudley Pelley is born in Massachusetts. As a foreign corresponded in Russia during the revolution, he will acquire a deep hatred of both communism and Jews.

When Adolf Hitler seizes power in Germany, Pelley is inspired to start the Silver Legion, a fascist and antisemitic which will have chapters in nearly every state. The ideology of the Silver Legion is very similar to that of the Nazi Party: anti-Communism, antisemitism, racism, and extreme nationalism.

William Pelley also founds the associated Christian Party for which he will run for president in 1936. Government authorities will be concerned enough about Pelley's fascist activism that he will be investigated numerous times, eventually being charged with high treason and sedition in 1942.
