Mormon leaders complete a constitutional convention in the hopes of becoming a U.S. state.

The proposed state of Deseret encompasses the present state of Utah, most of Nevada and Arizona, some of California, and portions of Colorado, New Mexico, Wyoming, Oregon, and Idaho.
