Saladin Calls for Holy War Against Latin Kingdom of Jerusalem

Reynald of Chantillon in Damascus
Source: Wikipedia

Reynald of Chantillon breaks a four-year-long truce with Saladin by attacking a large caravan travelling between Cairo and Damascus. All of the merchants and their families are taken prisoner and Reynald of Chantillon won't even meet to talk about compensation. As a result, Saladin calls for a holy war against the Latin Kingdom of Jerusalem.

Later accounts say that Saladin's sister is taken prisoner as well, but no evidence of this can be found in the Arabic sources.
