Shortly before the launch of a national census in Germany, a move that will give the Nazi government extensive information on the location and numbers of Jews, The New York Times runs a story about how the government is digging through the backgrounds of over 350,000 civil servants to find out who is of "Jewish extraction" and thus "liable to dismissal."
It should be clear to everyone that the purpose behind the census is to help the Nazi effort to identify Jews throughout Germany.
