Cardinal Joseph Mindszenty, Catholic prelate in Hungary who had been sentenced to life in prison in 1949 for "treason" and "espionage," is "allowed to interrupt his term."

He is let out of prison, but has to move to an asylum for retired priests in Vas in southern Hungary.
