Joseph Goebbels writes in his diary about a conversation he had with Adolf Hitler in which Hitler said that it would be necessary to "make short work" of the Jews.

Goebbels writes:

"We discussed many things: that one should dispose of habitual criminals before they commit crimes rather than afterwards; that our lawyers will never understand this; that the Jews also belong to this group and that we must make short work of them.

Otherwise they always have the affect of bacteria."
