Cardinal Bertram Asks Gestapo To Allow Religious Worship in Concentrations Camps

Adolf Bertram, 1916
Source: Deutsches Bundesarchiv

Cardinal Adolf Bertram, Archbishop of Breslau, asks the Gestapo to allow religious worship services again in the concentration camps. He promises that the priests involved will follow all the rules required of them, but his plea is rejected.
