Bishop Franz Rudolf Bornewasser and Vice Chancellor Franz von Papen issue a joint telegram on the occasion of the exhibition of the Seamless Robe (of Christ) in the Trier Cathedral.

Bishop Bornewasser had originally invited Hitler so that they could also celebrate the signing of the Reichskonkordat, but he sends Papen in his place.

In their joint statement, Bornewasser and Papen promise Adolf Hitler of their participation in the "work of resurrecting the German Reich."
