Alfred Binet is born Alfredo Binetti in Nice, France. A psychologist who invents the first usable intelligence test, Binet's focus is generally on identifying and helping children with special needs.

Later in his career he studies sexual behavior and coins the term "erotic fetishism" to describe people who develop sexual interest in objects such as clothing instead of in people.
