Godfrey De Bouillon dies while attempting to conquer Egypt. Some reports say he is struck by an arrow during a siege of the Acre; others say he dies after an illness.

Godfrey was the first Latin ruler of Jerusalem, but he didn't live quite a year after he accepted the title Advocatus Sancti Sepulchri (Advocate of the Holy Sepulcher).
