According to Vice President Dan Quale, the root of all the domestic problems of the Soviet Union is a "hatred of God." Because the Communist Party has rejected religion and God, it's leaders have clung to faith in their own "omniscience."

Vice President Quale's comments are made in a speech given at the annual conference of the National Religious Broadcasters in Washington, D.C.
