Dr. Edward Hughes Pruden, pastor of the First Baptist Church attended by President Harry Truman, rejects the call of Pope Pius XII for Protestant to join Catholics in the fight against Communism. According to Pruden, the Catholic Church is totalitarian just like communism is.

Dr. Pruden says:

"It is inconceivable that one form of totalitarianism can be defeated by the mere adoption of another form, however exalted the ideals of the other may be."
