Non-Jewish ("Aryan") wives of Jewish men start the Rosenstrasse protest in Berlin. This is a non-violent protest on Rose Street to demand the release of husbands who had been arrested and are being held in preparation of deportation to concentration camps.
The men number around 1,800 and are the last Jews left in Berlin. The protest is successful and the men are released, demonstrating that organized, deliberate protests could have an impact on Nazi policies and actions.
