South Korean scientists announce that they had successfully cloned 30 human embryos, grown them for a week in the laboratory, and extracted stem cells from them for further research.

The embryos were not implanted into a woman, but the techniques used here would make it easier to eventually clone a human. Currently cloning in South Korea is only permitted for research and medical therapies, not for reproduction.
