The New York Times reports on a remark made by Erhard Auer, vice president of the Bavarian parliament, to a correspondent from the Chicago Tribune that Henry Ford has been involved with Adolf Hitler.

According to the report:

"Auer alleges that Henry Ford is financing Adolf Hitler's Nazi movement because he approves of the Nazis' agenda for the "extermination of Jews in Germany."

Auer is also reported to say

"Herr Hitler openly boasts of Mr. Ford's support and praises Mr. Ford not as a great individualist but as a great anti-Semite."

Already in 1923 there is public recognition that Hitler would like to exterminate the Jews. No solid evidence is found for the rumor that Henry Ford finances the Nazi movement, however, just reports and rumors. Given just how similar Henry Ford's anti-Semitism is to that of Adolf Hitler, and just how much influence Ford's views have on Hitler as well as other Nazis, these reports cannot be dismissed as completely implausible.
