Frederick Conway becomes the first person to be buried in America's first cemetery specifically for atheists.

Conway, a prisoner who was serving time for murder in Virginia when he died of cancer, was buried by Arnold Via, founder of the American Atheists Infinite Cemetery as well as the state director of American Atheists.

Frederick Conway was a member of the Prison Atheist League and Via recorded the funeral with a camera. He has created no monuments, fences, or other features that are commonly found in cemeteries.
