Speaking to an assembly of Hitler Youth organizations in Essen, Nazi Minister of Education Bernhard Rust says that the Catholic Church will not affect plans to implement new sterilization laws. According to Rust, "It will be carried out regardless of whether the church likes it."

Addressing the desire of Catholic leaders to preserve the existence of Catholic youth organizations, Rust says:

"Your aim is the beyond — that is, you have a place in which you can prepare the people for it, which is the churches.

On the track and field you cannot prepare the people for heaven."
