Murad V, former Ottoman Sultan, dies in Constantinople. Murad V was deposed as sultan of the Ottoman Empire only 93 days after ascending to the throne. Highly influenced by French culture, he intended to create a new Constitution with democratic reforms for the Ottoman Empire.

This is the most plausible reason why he was replaced with brother, Abd-ul-Hamid II. His enemies never admit to this openly, however, and instead always maintain that he had to be replaced because he was mentally ill.
