Michael von Faulhaber is ordained a priest in Würzburg, Germany. As Cardinal in Munich, Faulhaber will be a significant force behind the German Catholic Church's support for Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party.

Never a Nazi himself, Faulhaber is nevertheless an ardent nationalist who promotes peaceful cooperation with what he sees as the lawful government in Germany.

Michael von Faulhaber sometimes criticizes the Nazis, but only when it comes to policies which directly affect Catholics; even then, he avoids going public with his thoughts.
