Timeline of History

Gaius Caligula (Gaius Julius Caesar Augustus Germanicus) is born in Antium, Italy. Gaius acquires the name "Caligula" at the age of two or three while he is accompanying his father's armies in Germania.

Gaius wears a miniature soldier's uniform, and the Roman soldiers begin to call him "Caligula," or "little boot" after the small soldier's boots he wears.

Eventually, Gaius Germanicus comes to dislike this nickname.
