Palestinian teenagers provoke a riot when they throw large stones at Israeli police just after the noon prayers at the Western Wall. When police try to intervene, hundreds more Muslims join the stone throwers. All eventually seek refuge at the Temple Mount, site of Al Aqsa Mosque.

Adnan Husseini blames the Israeli police:

"No one threw stones (before the police action). They (police) started doing this every Friday to scare elderly worshippers as younger ones are already banned. This is flagrant violation of freedom of worship."
