Palestinians hiding in a World Health Organization psychiatric hospital in Bethlehem open fire on Israeli troops who had come to arrest them.

After the battle, 12 of the Palestinians were arrested. Eight of them are belong to the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, a radical offshoot of Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat's Fatah movement.
