Hitler Youth Leader Baldur von Schirach Publishes Speech on Independent Catholic Groups Hot

Baldur Benedikt von Schirach, head of the Hitler Youth, has a speech published in the Leipziger Neuseste Naichrichtenin which he declares that

"It will be decided in the coming weeks whether the Catholics will possess enough sense to give up on their own accord this cliquish and disloyal system of theirs or whether it will be necessary to use force."

Schirach is referring to the continued existence of independent Catholic organizations which have not been brought under the leadership of the Nazis. It's not Catholicism per se which the Nazis object to, but rather a Catholicism which is independent of Nazism.

According to Nazi ideology, being a Nazi is the same as simply being a good German. Remaining independent of Nazi control is treated as being the same as remaining separate from the German Volk.
