The Premier of the Bavarian Council of Ministers informs the council that Cardinal Michael von Faulhaber of Bavaria has confidence in the new Nazi regime and that he has issued an order to all his clergy to support it.

Never a Nazi himself, Faulhaber is nevertheless an ardent nationalist who promotes peaceful cooperation with what he sees as the lawful government in Germany. He sometimes criticizes the Nazis, but only when it comes to policies which directly affected Catholics; even then, he avoids going public with his thoughts.
