Himmler Puts Control of Dachau Under the SS Hot

Heinrich Himmler removes control of the Dachau concentration camp from local prison officials and places it under the administration of his SS. This allows him to exercise direct control over the incarceration of political prisoners without having to worry about interference from the Ministry of Justice, under whose authority prisons are run.

Himmler's long-term plan is to make Dachau a model of a nationwide concentration camp system.
