Catholic bishops in Bavaria instruct their priests that they must oppose godlessness while supporting the government.
According to the new directives, Catholic priests should
"oppose the godlessness and immorality of the times and thus in this way support the plans of the nationalist government, which by means of governmental measures has promised to work for the spiritual renewal of our national life."
Notice that the "godlessness and immorality" of the times is contrasted with "the nationalist government," which is expected to combat the former.
This indicates that the Bavarian bishops do not consider the Nazi government to be either godless or immoral; on the contrary, it is both godly and moral enough to be given Catholic support.
