Heinrich Himmler Appointed Chief of Bavarian Political Police

Heinrich Himmler is appointed Commander of the Bavarian Political Police.

This allows him to take direct control over the Dachau concentration camp outside Munich as head of the political Emergency Police, consisting of members of the SA and SS. Himmler's goal is to take responsibility for this and future concentration camps away from regular police forces and put them in the hands of the SS.

Deputies of the Protective Police in Munich, originally responsible for the first prisoners transferred to Dachau, protest attempts to take that responsibility away from them, and Himmler will be forced to put regular police commanders in charge of SS guards at Dachau.
